DB9 rear light water protection?

We know that DB9 (and Rapide and VH Vantage) rear lights are very prone to water ingress and failure.

I came across this photo of a US spec 2015 DB9 which shows an extra protection strip, seemingly rubber, across the top of the light units (where the foam strip is) and down the internal side. Is it a feature of all later cars or a retrofittable item?

I've never seen that on a car or found them for sale but they do look good and IMO would help with the moisture problem.

You could also just purchase some self adhesive foam and do it yourself

It doesn't need to be foam, just something waterproof that looks better than gaffer tape
