Sorry for all the daft questions but I'm only 3 weeks in to owning a DB9 2005.

The reverse sensors don't work but do they only work if the GPS screen is working as I think the gears have gone in that as well. Or are they just on the car for show 🤣

Thanks.

No, the operation isn't related to the Sat-Nag.

When you've put the key in the ign, if there's a continuous tone during the system test, that's usually a sign there's a parking sensor fault. The annoying thing is that a single faulty sensor will disable the whole system.

It's not uncommon for the parking sensors to give up and need replacing and one of the next jobs I need to do on mine.

I suspect this. Mine can get water ingress and then go beep for no reason.

NB Have you actually got them? Google AI says 'While some early Aston Martin DB9s did not include reverse parking sensors as standard, they were a factory option on later models.' (That doesn't make sense but you get the idea)

Cheers guys. I'm presuming I do as there are 4 fitted at the rear but I suppose they could be blanks?

I don't get a continuous beep on system check just the normal one when you put the key in.

I will have a look to actually see if they have wires to them

Cheers

Don't quote me on this, but was there a method involving an empty toilet paper roll to understand if they were working/there? Put the roll on the sensor and listen through it, you should hear them click, possibly.

The reverse sensors on my Vanq have stopped working.

It's a one out, all out type of thing, so only takes one to go down and the system stops.

As above, put it in reverse and listen for clicking coming from each sensor, no clicky, no worky.

I think it is a Ford thing - had to replace three on the wife's Kuga. That was straight forward, for a DB or Vanquish, I believe it is a bumper off job.

That sounds as if there's a physical switch inside; you'd think it was all electronic.
