Leaking passenger side A pillar

Evening All,

I am just wondering if anyone has had any leaks around the area pictured. I'm not sure if it's door seal or the windscreen.

Sun-roof? That looks like the result of blocked drainage from sunroof channels. I'm not familiar with your car but typically there are narrow pipes which run down from the front corners of the sunroof down the A-pillars. They can be an absolute bugger to sort out.

I did, luckily it was the seal, felt a bump in it where it wasn’t seated fully, couple of taps with a small mallet and it was sorted. Fingers crossed for a similar simple fix!

Yeah only had it 3 weeks so just finding all the little niggles with it.

Doesn't have a sunroof on this one unfortunately.

Will have a look at the seal and hope it's not the windscreen seal.

I had exactly this on the driver's side, except it ran unnoticed down into the footwell and the insulation under the carpet was absolutely soaked (hence why the interior misted up). The only place I could think it was coming in was round the windscreen, the seal between glass and rubber. Being a boat owner I have a bottle of 'Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure' which it devoured voraciously - it took 3-4 treatments before it stopped running in. Problem seems to be fixed now.

If I were in your shoes I'd be inclined to remove the A-pillar trim to see if the source of the leak becomes more obvious.

A word of caution - I can't recall how old your car is (I know you've mentioned it in other posts) but I had a 2007 Volvo (part of PAG, along with AML and JLR at the time) and I started to get a screen leak, in my case from the top. Eventually I had to get a new screen fitted as the PU adhesive was progressively debonding off the body flange.

The correct functioning of the airbags relies on the screen being firmly bonded to the body. I mention this only as my wife's 2007 Volvo also has a bonding issue with one of the side glasses and I have heard of other cars from around that time with glass bonding problems. I have no idea if it was a process or a materials issue.

For now I have opted to go with a top half cover and also the sealant stuff mentioned above. I can't see any trace of it coming in the passenger seat so presume it's the windscreen

Update. I used the sealer as mentioned above about 5 times and reworked the seal on the door.

The door seal is dry now but it's still getting wet slightly with all this rain. The only area it can be coming in is the windscreen unless anyone else has an idea?
