Engine Stall when Coasting Issue
Discussion
Hi all,
I've searched the forums before and seen loads of posts since the Gaydon era Vantage came out up to 2016 that have an issue when you coast to a stop, it will stall.
In the 20 years of the cars existence - has anyone found a fix yet?
Is it needing new fuel lines to a catch can or is it just a quirk of the car?
Thanks all

What car have you got? Manual, auto or SS?
Does the engine idle ok? plus can you smell petrol from the exhaust?
Could be a vacuum leak, has there been any engine work completed recently?
The engine will try to keep to a preset idle, but it will struggle if the fuel or ignition systems have a fault.
Are there any fault codes plus are the short and long term fueling trims ok?

I've only had this issue twice in the last 2 years so every time I "coast" to a stop, I just downshift rev match and that seems to fix all the problems BUT it's a problem that should have had a fix by now and with how my brain works, I need to know it! Especially since these cars came brand new with the issue!Does the engine idle ok? plus can you smell petrol from the exhaust?

I have a Manual 4.3 - engine idles okay - can't smell petrol from the exhaust - car goes in for service early Feb - no fault codes with this issue from all the forums I can see including no fault codes with my own - not sure what you mean by short and long term fuelling trims?
