Hi all

Had a test drive of the below car today.

Enjoyed the car as did the Mrs and 20 month toddler.
It felt very well put together and in terms of this particularly car, we really like the spec and it seems fairly well priced for the age / mileage. Could spend a bit more for on a year newer on similar mileage so not sure there s any point. The dealer is also local to us (5 miles).

Does there seem to be anything missing spec wise to the trained eye?

The infotainment system is indeed a bit old hat but we new this going in, wired CarPlay fine and budget doesn t stretch to facelift interior.

The main consideration is that whilst we keep telling ourselves we fancy a treat and want to replace our current gen Range Sport D350, as soon as we get back into it it s like a comfy pair of slippers! So the other car under consideration is an SV. Nowhere near as nice or special a thing as the Aston, but so easy to live with and a proven formula for us.

This brings me to the second query / musing:

Most 707s have the sports seats, we both struggled to get the lumbar / seat setup sorted and found the controls on the side of the seats hard to use. What s the consensus on the comfort / adjustability of the seats? We would do some long trips to in-laws etc.

Finally, how do these hold up over time, any long term DBX owners?

Many thanks in advance.

You may already know, but you mentioned wired CarPlay.
That can easily be made wireless, by plugging in an inexpensive USB dongle.
I have used one for a couple of years. Works perfectly.
Out of sight, so no dangling wires to see.

PS.
This might be of interest.

I had a DBX550 in Minotaur Green with a similar interior. The colour is very variable depending on the light but looks incredible in bright sunlight. Always received lots of very positive feedback on the it and the interior
When I sold it back to the dealer it had a reserved sticker on their website within 2/3 days so clearly I wasn’t the only one who liked the colour combo. Really enjoyed the car but ultimately sold it after nearly four years since it was a bit big for parking in London and my wife also has a large Audi sporty SUV, went small electric for town use and use hers for longer runs.

I ran a 707 a couple of years back. Really good all rounder, no issues apart from cold weather. The frameless doors and pop out door handles will freeze up if it lives outside which is a real PIA in the Winter. Enough to make me dump mine.

Thanks
Car outside but I have big cantilevers that keep the car undercover and very near the house so tend to be okay.

Hi Rich,
I have owned my DBX707 for 3 years and 50,000 km (about 30K miles). I ve had three minor issues during my ownership, an exhaust valve which was stuck, some very slight suspension noise and my driver s window fell off its support to disappear in the door.
All issues were promptly fixed under warranty.
I ve owned 6 Range Rovers, the DBX offers nearly the same comfort but is way more fun to drive.
You feel it is much lighter, you can easily waft along in GT mode and when you re in the mood, just put it into Sport or Sport+ and the handling is really surprising.
You get the best of both worlds and it is a practical superSUV.
I use mine as a daily.
Took it to the French Alps, left the car outside at -12C, no issues with door handles or windows not operating.
Nath s thread that Graham shared gives some insight on his woes with his car but mine s been great save those minor issues I mentioned earlier.
I wouldn t know what to replace it with and thinking of keeping it a while longer under warranty just to be on the safe side.
Other than that what else can I say?
Infotainment although old hat (pre-facelift interior) works fine, I just plug my IPhone and use CarPlay and voice control.
The fact you re looking at an earlier 707 means it doesn t have the annoying ADAS system of the later models which is a bonus.
Just go for it, you won t regret your choice.
Edited to add we have the Sports seats and they’re very comfortable, very adjustable and you want a seat that holds you tight given the performance available.
I know you can spec the comfort seats like Nath did but I think the Sports seats suit the car’s nature.
Very comfortable over long distances too.

If I could justify it, I’d have a DBX as a daily, it’s freaking amazing.
