2017 DB11 V12 U0100 / Gear Selection Fault after sitting
Discussion
Looking for a bit of advice. Red rings appears but when pressed it throws the faul code
2017 DB11 V12. Car sat for about three weeks. Went to start it and the battery was pretty much flat. Dash threw up:
“Gear Selection Fault – consult workshop”
Scanned it and got U0100 – Lost Communication with ECM/PCM A.
Called AA, fitted a brand new AGM battery (correct spec), fully charged. Battery is definitely fine. I also have another brand new spare battery (bought when the car was new to avoid exactly this sort of issue), so we’ve ruled battery voltage out.
Has anyone here had similar issues after the car’s been parked up?
Particularly U0100 / comms faults or gear selection errors?
Also — has anyone experienced rodent damage causing comms faults like this while the car’s been sitting?
Before I start pulling half the car apart chasing looms, just wondering if this is something others have experienced.
Appreciate any insight
