AMV8 seat back release inop.

I was reading a similar post but I can no longer find it. Someone posted a diagram of the seat back on the Aston Martin Vantage. My seat back releases manually by pulling up on the strap below the headrest. Pushing the lighted button on the side of the seat / headrest I can hear a noise but it doesn't release. Any suggestions as to how to get the upholstery off to get to the components in the seat back. Do I need to take it to an upholstery shop? Thanks Pete
