I found two rear shocks for a 4.3 coupe (2005 -) but it seems they have different part numbers than the roadster's even if they look identical.

Any idea how are they different? The coupe's fit ok in the roadster and I can't really judge how hard or not they are because the original ones were blown.

Shall I be worried about anything?

Thanks

I can't confirm exact differences in your particular dampers but AML tends to "retune" the suspension between the Coupe and the Roadster (and the Volantes).

The weight distribution is slightly different (no metal roof/tailgate/glass; added hood mechanism, extra stiffness reinforcements) and, despite the engineering efforts, the body stiffness and weight might be different. So typically they select different bushes, maybe rollbars and springs and select damper rates to suit. They may also take into consideration difference of use between coupe (more press-on) and roadster (more enjoy the sun). It will all depend on the engineering targets when they developed the roadster off the coupe.

The dampers should fit and work fine, as I think all of the main hard points are the same between coupe and roadster, but the damper rates will almost certainly not be as AML originally intended for the roadster. I have no idea what they will do for your ride quality. They will almost certainly be better than completely shot dampers of any flavour
