Vantage battery Change time
Discussion
I'm going to be changing the battery on the Vantage (MY06 4.3 Manual) this weekend. The original has finally given up the ghost.
I've watched lots of vids on youTube and happy with that piece, but do i need to worry about anything else ? Do I need to reprogramme ECU's or some such after wards or it is a simple out/in operation.

Nothing to be concerned about. i changed a battery in my 4.3 without issue. On my 4.7 Roadster I left it plugged into my CTEK charger in supply mode just to try it out and obviously no need to reset anything either.
The most difficult part can be getting the sliding brackets off/on and in a coupe its a bit awkward lifting the battery in/out if you are not particularly physically fit. In a Roadster its easier as you can do it with the roof down.

If its an AGM battery you won't need the vent tube (double check this) as it doesn't offgas hydrogen unless under extreme failure conditions. The typical lead acid batts need the tube for a bit of added safety as it vents hydrogen when charging and if this builds up in the car it can ignite (It would need to be extreme circumstances, but theres that possibility).
I used a typical 658 lead acid spec in my 09 4.7L Vantage. If you haven't bought the new battery yet, take out the cover behind the seats (it just pulls away) then remove the foam behind the drivers seat and check what battery mounts you have. If you have the bracket mount that goes over the battery the 658 needs to have somewhat of a groove in that position otherwise it isn't going to fit. Most 658s have this groove to some degree. Check yours.
As above, seats and windows play up due to low voltage sometimes. If you don't keep power to the car while changing (as suggested above you could do this through the charging socket) , you may need to reseat the fuses once you have replaced the battery and do the window relearn procedure , both of which are documented in detail on the forum.

One tip I remember when I changed mine was after you have connected up the new battery, make sure to leave the ignition on for a short while rather than fire up the car immediately. Something about letting the systems reboot properly. Might be Aston folk law but suppose it won't do any harm.
