2005 db9 alarm module

I have got the dreaded service alarm system and I'm guessing it's the batt in the siren module.

I have a Volvo part fitted currently.

Any idea on which one replaces it?

Use the same again unless you want to "play" and try to replace the battery? There are 2 versions and the cheaper one is only just over £100.00 from Aston. I believe the more expensive one, around £300.00 adds anti-jacking facility.

Having said that, I posted a while back that my BRAND NEW GENUINE ASTON MARTIN unit failed again within 6 months and AM would not replace it under warranty because they did not fit it! They also wanted £200.00 "diagnostics" and plus labour time to replace it.

I kindly told them where to go and bought a used Volvo one online.

It's a generic FoMoCo part, found on lots of Ford/PAG cars of the era. I fixed mine, with a £10 unit from a Ford Kuga, which I picked up from an eBay scrap merchant.

IIRC - It's that middle block of numbers "19G229" which are the important ones. The "7H22" is the car model and "BA" is a date code.

Alternatively, you can pull it apart and swap out the battery.

This is the info I was after.

Another daft question, all the ones I search are silver metal half round speaker units. Do they fit inside the black box I have?

I presume if the middle numbers match the plug will still fit? Cheers

Good question... From memory, the unit in the 2nd photo, sits inside that black casing, from your original photo.

When I did mine, before doing anything else, I plugged it in, tested and found it to work perfectly. However, the replacement had a metal case (like your 2nd photo) rather than the plastic sealed unit of the original, so it just needed a slight adjustment to the outer case to make it fit.

I took the approach of "It's only a tenner, let's give it a go".
