Vanquish Volante 2016, yellow foam from the roof
Discussion
That happened with my 2014 Vantage roadster…it’s a filler material between the canvas and headliner. I’m not sure if it is for sound or weather insulation, but it eventually dries out and flakes. I had mine vacuumed/cleaned out and have not been bothered beyond that. My car is quite comfortable for long trips…quiet enough for conversation and music, and no issues with wet weather. FYI it’s been said that the flaking is the result of buffeting caused by driving with the top up and windows down. I have been told by reliable specialists that is not the case.
I have this on my 2010 vantage roadster. My plan is to vacuum it as suggested but at some stage in the future I will get the roof refurbed at which point I’ll get new insulation put in. I mainly drive ‘topless’ so it’s not a major snag in the meantime. FWIW it first happened when lowering the roof whilst in motion.
