Noticed during the recent heavy rain that my seatbelts are getting damp.

If it ever stops raining I plan to flush and use a trombone cleaner on the drains under the hood cover, although when I did a quick visual check there wasn’t any sitting water.
I’ve also been advised to do a window reset to check they are sealed correctly.
Anything else you would recommend checking?

Carpets behind the seats are dry so hopefully caught it early

Seals on the hood itself?

Window sensors? If they are not registering the door being properly shut, window still could be a little dropped for door opening.

Rear window glass seal? My 2008 has the common convertible issue of seal degradation, I’ve bought a German manufactured 2 part epoxy kit (with glass clamps) specifically designed for soft-top windows (so has enough thermal expansion and flexibility) to re-seal it.

Not saying it’s any of these, just throwing ideas into the mix

I don't see how it's getting across the gap from the windows to the seatbelts. If the windows didn't seal properly wouldn't you know that from extra wind noise while driving?

Ok - absolutely sh@t myself this morning - had the roof half open without the engine running while I checked the drains - after a few mins the tonneau cover lost hydraulic pressure and started closing, causing a roof failure message.
Did the battery reset, window reset still stuck in no man s land. Used the manual procedure to get the tonneau back down and the roof almost closed except the windscreen latches and tried again - it worked. my heart rate returned to normal while the wife called me a knob .

I think the damp issue is caused by a lack of inner layer above the seatbelt area as the drains are clear and the seatbelts aren t soaking wet. Going to apply a coat of Fabsil Gold protector which should help and will report back.

hehe

Exactly the same happened with my XK convertible - operated the roof with the engine off (thinking it can't use much power can it) and that's when it stopped without fully closing. Battery was flat - called the AA and then happily with a new battery or jumpstart, can't remember which, the roof closed.

I'm always slightly terrified of operating the roof on my Vanquish... engine on and keep finger firmly on button until everything's finished. The swtichgear is very poor as the fuel filler release is right next to it and looks and feels exactly the same. I think the roof button should be in the centre console or at least slightly protected in some way, because the first time I opened the roof I'd just stopped for fuel...

What happens if you start to operate the roof, but then change your mind and press the button the other way?
