Bright lights (of the warning variety)
Discussion
Had a few warning lights today:
- DSC service due. Amber triangle.
- traction control temporarily off. Amber skidding car.
- emergency brake assist warning (or off?). Red triangle.
Anyone had these and is there an easy check or is it, as I expect, a dealer visit job?
Car's driving fine, but thought I'd check in here first...

usual one for this is the brake pressure sensor fitted into the bottom of the master cylinder, can also be caused by the brake switch, and abs sensors located at the wheels, sorry murph looks like you will need a code read
one check you can do is check the wiring to the front abs sensors the wires can become detach and then they rub on the wheels cutting through them, you can do this just by locking the wheels over and looking from the front, the wires run along the front edge of the upper suspension arm,

I'm sure Rick will correct me shortly but Emergency brake assist was explained to me thus. When you perform an emergency stop the computer figures out that's what you are trying to do and it applies full braking force on your behalf, so you don't have to mash the brake so hard. Also when you really mash the brake you get judder in some cases and people who are not used to this and the way ABS works will sometimes ease off pressure. But the computer just figures out your intention and then does the right thing.
Hi Rick, I have the same emergency brake assist warning red light come on. I have read the comments on the site with regards to changing the transducer sensor switch. I have replaced with ease but the warning still appears after 5 minutes of driving the car. Any suggestions welcome? Could it be the car battery? I have yet to change this for a very long time. Thank you in advance.
