Gents,

I have been toying w/ the idea of running daily an '80s AMV8 or Virage post '96 for a while.

I wouldn't be looking for a Concours car, but rather a nice every day useable.

If you look at my profile I have been running 993 and 993TT. I drive in every condition between 7-10kmiles a year. Surfing, snowboarding, occasional track day, you name it.

Is that something feasible? what would be a decent running budget? and more importantly reliability?
Does anyone here run an 80's AMV8 or Virage post '96 daily? What are your experiences like?

Hope this is not just a dream, as I do not want to have both a 993TT and 80's AMV8 or Virage post '96 in Central London at the same time.

Thanks, info greatly appreciated.

I actually Live in mine.

Rick from DMS took the bulkhead out on the passenger side and fitted me in a small full length cot. I also have a small kitchinette in the back and a hand operated shower too. Its really great and takes me back to my submariner days.

So called! What do you mean so called! It's an Aston and Aston has moved on with the times. How can anyome not LOVE the new styled Astons? They are absolute perfection in design terms marrying function and form beautifully. I did'nt realize there was a stuffy set where AM is concerned.

"so called" doesn't mean anything more than the newly AM called V8 or Vantage

that's all it meant, don't get all hedgy and defensive.

Anyways, my question remains, if anyone here has experience daily running an old '70 '80 AMV8, i would love hearing about it.
