no, never noticed TBH ...I thought it was going to be another "sticky flap" problem - a few people have had that, and usually its just a lube job wink

Not had that problem, have had the cap fall off it's perch once whilst filling up, not good for the paintwork. It seems to be a tight fit, anyone know of any solutions for this?

I don't suffer from this. Fill up so often I must have got used to it.

I agree with the comment re the flap but no problems experienced with the filler cap itself. The post also fit perfectly to rest the cap whilst filling.

Maybe I'm dumb, but I've never found a perch for the filler cap on the DB9. I just have to rest it near the lip.

There is no logical place to put the filler cap when filling up... Crap Design... Thats why the car is know in the industry as a "bd"... and we could take that literally , but we do love em...

The cap fit into the flap on both the Vantage, DB9 DBS

the DB9

The V8 Vantage

In this picture you can see the peg and the hole the cap goes into

Thanks for the pics Rick. I may have to apply some grease or Vaseline to the peg as my cap is far from snug..........oooeeerrr! laugh

In my case the weight of the the cap resting on the peg causes the cap to close !.

Now I'm going to have to look for peg and hole. My nine month old son is quite good at this kind of thing.

biggrin that's a good thing Mark, otherwise I would have nothing to do on the forums and would have to find a real social life outside the Aston Community,

I must admit the battery disconnect/reset switch had me stumped for a while when I first tried to find it smile

I dropped mine the other day, the metal tie broke ages ago, and broke the plastic centre out of the aluminium. I can still use just the plastic, but keen to get a new one. There £200 or so, and I was wondering if the plastic came from a Ford or Volvo? From a 2006 V8 Vantage? Anybody know?
