Yes.

Unbold it and replace with a regular plate carrier such as those on Audis and the like or just stick the plate on.

I took my carrier off completely so you just end up with 2 holes, then bought a new number plate and made the holes in the new number plate what I was left with in the bumper, and then bolted directly to bumper with no holder at all (didn't want to just stick it).

as above - just undo the bolts holding it on and stick a plate on however you fancy....Ive just got double sided number plate tape on mine ...10 min job...looks much better IMO

Easy - ditto everyone else, holes drilled in the plate to match the original mounting holes, and spaced off the bodywork by 2 -3 mm with ribber washers.
