2010 V8V too quiet
Discussion
My new 2010 V8V coupe arrived but it seems too quiet. Early days and just a few hundred miles so far but it is noticeably quieter than a similar car I have been driving for the last couple of weeks. I have been driving another 2010 V8V up to delivery of my new car and that was very noticeably louder. A direct comparison has been easy, stepping out of one and straight into the other.
It is not a fuse 22 issue. Comparing the cars with or without fuse 22 in place there is a big difference - in both settings. My car has a fuse 22 switch fitted and it does make a difference when opened. And when the switch is not in use, the volume does increase around 4,500RPM as expected. So at least I know the exhaust valves are doing something of a job. Both cars have standard exhausts.
Any obvious reason? Are exhaust valves known to not open fully? I have referred it to the dealer and waiting for an answer. But based on my discussion with them, I can see where it is going ... quieter when cold...not all the same.
Might not sound like a big issue to some, but the sound of these cars is part of the appeal and I am really hoping that it is easily solved. Any ideas?

Perhaps now it is your own car that you ar driving you are not giving it enough welly! Press the loudness pedal on the right a bit harder and those lovely tones should come wafting through.

Not the case. Both cars have been mine, both used from brand new and driven exactly the same. It is a difference between the cars, immedietely noticeable on starting the engine and becoming more obvious on the move. No one has ever accused me of not giving a car enough welly.
