Help Rick - New AMV8 owner coolant/mirror issues

Have been enjoying the weekend as the happy next owner of a 2006 V8V. Unfortunately discovered a couple of minor (I hope) issues. Looking for advice from Rick and others.

Every time the it comes up to temperature (middle hash mark) I get a 'coolant low' warning, which stays lit till an overnight cool off. Have checked the coolant level - its full upto the top near the cap - both when its cool and also when at temp (with the fault on). Any ideas before I take it to the shop?

Also, one of my power-fold mirrors doesn't. Can hear the motor, but its like its forgotten its position. Is there a reset procedure - just like the one Rick has on his website for the windows?

Why not give Keith a ring at Stratstone Wilmsow, close to you.
Sounds like fualty coolant sensor, strange that level is same both hot and cold?. Mirror issue may be just a PDM reflash.

strangely enough, my car has developed identical faults !

its going in for a service at Ricks place in a couple of weeks

the coolant thing is the sensor - mine does it, but more irregular ...I do the same - check when cold, find its fine and forget about it...until the next time it gives a false alarm

dunno whats going on with the mirror..

im sure it will get sorted soon and I will let you know post service what mine was

My V8V does exactly the same, says coolant level and its fine hot or cold.

Can go for weeks without anything and then it can stay on for a few days and then goes again.

Just annoying...

Question is how much is it to fix - Over to you Rick

The sensor fits into the bottom of the expansion tank, it could be a connection issue, or a faulty sensor, the sensor including vat is £25.77 and is not difficult to replace, so around half an hours labour,

Thanks for the inputs guys. Well looks like the sensor didn't give the warning yesterday - perhaps gone on to becoming intermittent.

Rick, any idea on the powerfold mirrors? The left one keeps hanging - does move slightly while the right one swings shut nicely.

Have you got any dirt or other obstructions around the mirror pivot points? Perhaps try blowing it with some compressed air - if you can hear the motor going and it moves a little, it's either going to be this or a broken part I would think.

You can fold the mirrors in manually so when checking for foreign objects, would be sensible to do so in all positions.

As murph states it probably is a mirror fault itself, there is a possibility that it could be software or door module related, but would need checking to confirm,
