Just driving on a small section of dual around Cirencester this morning and I overtook a dark (Meteorite Silver??) DB9 coupe (08 reg) who waved at me in warning as he had seen what he thought to be a plodcar up ahead and thought I might have sped up to it. (As it happens I had seen it and it was an ambulance car).

What a nice thing to do ...especially as I wasn't even in my DB9!

A XKR convertible waved at me today when out in the Volante and I was so busy thinking should I wave back or carry the upper hand that I drove past him

What should I have done - it was the supercharged one I noticed the louvres

If it was the new XKR, he may have overtaken you.....in a straight line anyways. Drove one recently and they are surprisingly fast!

True the new XKR is fast and handles well.
I went to the launch day and was very impressed.
So much so I started looking for a demo to buy.
Doesn't have the prescence of an AM though
So I'm now trying to buy a V8V roadster for not much more

I know they are fast I have a XFR coming next week I love the engine BUT as jezza said on TG you buy an XK cos you cant afford an Aston, I dont completely agree but you get the drift .....

I live in Birkenhead and some of us a jolly posh.....just like you chaps from the south we drink Pimms, enjoy sushi, and enjoy the delights of a fine filly...... and because our homes are so cheap (mine has 6 bedrooms and cost £50) we pay cash for our Astons

Actually I want to do the garage up - nice floor and plaster it - I fancy one of those operating theater garages.

What do you mean should you carry the upper hand?

You should have waved, the guy was obviously an ethusiast and thought you might be too. Maybe he's started a thread saying Aston drivers aren't very nice
