Having just had the two rear tyres replaced, the "check tyres" warning light won't go off, any ideas? Both tyres are at 36psi.
Good tip on the tyre sourcing by the way (kwikfit), £400 for the pair, mobile fitted... thanks for the post

I hope they havent busted your sensors, it probably needs calibrating Im sure a knowledgable person will advise soon, I would be paranoid letting a kwik fit guy near my Aston

The tyre monitor sensors are a real pain and it looks as if you will need to have them re-calibrated. I just went through that when I changed from winter to summer tyres and the yellow light came on. You probably need to go to AML to have that fixed as independents can't access the set-up. On my Porsche, Tires Direct managed to "loose" the sensor inside the tyre which made a terrible noise every time I started driving. Eventually I had to go to Porsche to have it fixed, so what I saved by dealing with Tyres Direct I spent with Porsche having to exchange the sensor. On all cars these sensors are a pain and I would never spec them again.

I want to get a set of Pirelli Sottozeros for the V12V with rims for the winter. Question is, will the tyre pressure sensors need AM dealer recalibration every time I swap over the tyre sets or does it self-calibrate?

Alternatively, does anyone see a reason why the tyre pressure monitoring system cannot be permanently disabled?

Discuss.

..it seems to have righted itself, a couple of miles in and it turned itself off. Maybe it's a bit of a pain but it picked up the puncture in the first place so I'm grateful for that.

should be no need to recalibrate at all ...you can manually re-set the pressure reading to monitor like any system, and you could just take it out if you dont want it at all
