Just insured my car with AF. Saw the ad on here and the annual figure is about right (£1070).

One shocker though. the nice lady on the phone advised that I can pay a deposit (£179) and monthly payments of £122 for 9 months, interest rate of 14% on the balance only.

So borrowing £891 and repaying £1098 over 9 months. APR 38% ouch!

It looks good compared to the company that's advertising short-term loans on TV: 2,278% APR!!

Be careful - if you have a Vantage they will insist that you have the Alarm changed to a Thatcham approved one as they do not recognise the Aston one (plus Tracker) as good enough.

I had to drop them for this reason

I am now with Chubb through Lockton's - better policy and better price

I started to have the same problem with them with my DB9 but after proving to them that it was a better system than the one they suggested via Thatcham they relented. I then took out insurance with them.

OP - if you do a search through this forum (or on my profile) you should come to the whole story if its any use
