Hi All,

I am loving my V8VR so much that i almost feel embarrassed to post this but i occasionally have a problem with the passenger door not unlocking. It happened just the other day to both doors, luckily the roof was down at the time so i just leant in and opened the drivers door using the internal handle.

When i am outside the car I have tried pressing the lock then unlock button on the key fob repeatedly without any luck and when it happens when i am inside the car i have tried the lock/unlock button next to the gearstick repeatedly with no success. I have to lean over the passenger seat and undo the door using the inner door handle.

Has anybody else had this problem? I will be bringing this up at the next service but just wondered if this is a common fault that can be easily remedied.

Thanks

Do a search. Door module problems aren't infrequent.

Trip to the dealer to reflash should sort I believe.

The internal handle on the drivers door of my V8V has stopped working for some reason and it's emabarrassing having to climb over and get out of the passenger door! Is this a common problem? The outside handle works fine. I've never taken the door panel off, so haven't a clue what the linkage is like on the internal handle.
Anybody any clues?
Thanks
Nigel

It's an '07 model, which I bought privately a month ago, so no warranty. I've just had the doors resprayed due to some corrosion (AM paid a %). I'm wondering if the bodyshop omittted a clip off of a bit of linkage.

Chances are the cables has come off. Easy fix if it's at the door handle end. Take out the 2 allen key bolts holding the handle on. remove the trimed panel on the back of the handle (should just fall off, it's an interference fit) cable has a 4 piece clip that slots into a metal bracket and there should be a lug that locates into the back of the handle mech itself. If that bits OK it's probaly come off the mech end in the door which will need a trip to the garage. regards the other car not locking, probably needs a door latch mech.

Although I have seen one car where the door lock wouldn't operate but everything in the door did (mirro, window, speaker) and that did turn out to ba a faulty module. If there's a click when you listen close to the door even when it's doesn't lock/unlock, it's probably the door latch. If there's nothing what so ever (ear to the door skin, it's pretty faint sometimes!) then it could be the module.

It's been experienced by some on here before.

KoA has it smile

Also...you're not locking the doors are you (by accident or otherwise) when inside it? I'm pretty sure you have to pull the handle once to unlock, then again to open if you are...

Brilliant, thank you that sorted it. the trimmed panel on the back of mine was held on by a small Torx heaed screw
