Ok, I'm trying to arrange an VERY informal meet-up, where anyone with a Marque car can pop along and say hello.

I've posted this on the Ferrari, Lambo, Maser and Bugatti forum so hoping to see a few more exotics other than Aston's.

The proposed meet-up location would be "The Phantom Winger" which is a Tavern just off the M55/M6 junction.

It has an Ibis hotel and Wacky Warehouse on the same site.

The car park is a good size so parking would not be a problem.

The plan is to have a meet-up over multiple days/evenings.. so that most people should be able to find the time to pop along and say hello.

I would propose that maybe we should have a key time when most people could make it, either during the day or the evening.

Essentially this is something for those local to the area and for now would be a one-off meet, however could turn into something semi-regular with the odd drive out if enough interest is out there.

Open to ideas and suggestions :-)

I'm in Blackburn and know the PW so I'd be up for a get together meet.

So which days do you think would be best to spread the meet's over?

Friday / Saturday / Sunday?

or perhaps

Wednesday / Friday / Sunday?

Just thinking which would be best for those who work shifts etc.

As for times maybe early evening for those who work day shifts.. 7pm or 8pm arrival time?

Earlier meet times could be arranged so those working night shifts won't be left out maybe 11am?

There is a big TVR event in Blackpool at the end of August.. might be good to pop along to their sprint event on the Promenade at Norbreck.. if any one else is interested we could arrange a time for that too.

Don't you think you're being a little ambitious trying to suit everyone on the first event?

Why not have a 10am start on a Sunday, when most people are off and see how it goes?

I see your logic Handymanm but I thought no harm in asking for preferred days and times and go with the majority.

Since you are the only one so far to offer any ideas, then for now we can say Sunday at 10am... now we need to pick a date!!

Not 22nd August or 5th September ;-)

22nd August my car is having a windscreen fitted and 5th September is the TVR sprint day on Blackpool prom.

I'll be there with my GT so if anyone wants to go to the TVR sprints then I'll see you there :-)

So 29th is free but maybe too soon to get the word about??

Edited to correct stupid Date error :-) hehe no Time travel required

The 15th of August is no good for me as my Tardis is in for service! 29th is on a bank holiday weekend so might be a good date.

Well I can be there on the 29th...

10am on a Sunday though.. hehe Can we make it 12pm or 1pm????

I stand a far better chance of being up and about for that time ;-)

Use this first meet to arrange a second meet maybe the Sunday 12th Sept (Groundhog Day)

I'll spread the word for the 29th and see how many show up...

I'll aim for 12pm "top of the clock" easy for folk to remember.

Well, so far we have TVR's and Porsches and one or two Aston's.

Should be an interesting couple of hours at least.

Shame we can't get more Aston's there.

I will write a report of how this first meet goes and hope to arrange a better meet-up in the not too distant future.

:-)

Ok, I just found out about a Classic Car Show the same day in Blackpool, so... in view of this, how about a 9am meet-up at Preston's Phantom Winger?

This first meet might be a hassle due to short notice, but any future plans will be organised far better.

hehe.. how's 11am sound... I'm guessing the meet will only last an hour, by which time we'd have had a good look around the cars, chatted a bit etc.. so be free for 12pm.

All day event are easier to arrange.. however a simple one hour meet-up is more difficult due to not being able to please everyone all the time.

If we agree here on 11am then I'll get to updating the other postings and ensure everyone has the new time :-)

Gonna be a busy week for me.. Windscreen replacement on Tuesday, MOT on Wednesday giving me a few spare days to do any remedial work in case it fails for some unknown reason ;-)

Hmmm?

I'm sure the Winger would sell them but I'll see if I can obtain some of our own ;-)
