This may sound daft but I have been driving my DBS Touchtronic for 2 months and it is giving me a really sore right knee and hip, every time I drive it. Its my only car and I use it every day but nothing excessive.

I've had a DB9 and Vantage V12 in the past and never had a problem but I just can't stop the ache in the DBS. I've tried sitting on cushions, moving the seat in all angles etc but just cant stop it. As soon as I get out and walk around, it eases off. Does anyone else suffer with this or am I just odd? Wouldn't mind but I'm only in my mid 30's!

Any suggestions anyone?

It may be worth getting the car checked to ensure the seat is aligned correctly, do you feel "straight" in the car?

If all is well get yourself measured up by AM and have the seat repositioned to suit you.

(I'm guessing the pedals are in the same place as the '9)

It might be your back that is squeezing a nerve in a particular seating position. Sciatica is the medical term. Not much you can do other than playing around with the seat alignment. (This is eventually why older men favor Jaguars and 7 series BMWs I guess.)

Sounds like it's your IT band. Can be caused by excessive use. Try stretching it out, rolling it out using a foam roller Otho see a sports masseuse. unlikely to be just caused by the driving but certainly could be Irritating it.

Ilio-Tibial band. Runs from your Sacro-Iliac joint (hip) to your Tibia. Down the outside of your thigh, and knee.

I have the same problem to a greater or lesser degree depending on which car I am driving. The AMV8 is the worst for me but I have yet to spend much time adjusting the seat to compensate. I have an X3 which is much better and a Mercedes E320 which is only a little better than the AM.

My first occurrence of it was after a 1200 mile drive down to Spain in an M3, I was limping for days after we arrived. My GP has diagnosed it as sciatica and I find the more flexed the joint is when driving i.e. bent at the knee the better it is. This is why the X3 is most comfortable, because the seats are higher and especially at the front under the knee.

I find that when I get out of the car I am limited to how far I can raise the knee and have to exercise it up and down for a while to eliminate the pain. Another way of releasing it is to sit forward with my head between my knees which is basically easing the pressure on the vertebrae.

I can only suggest you try adjusting the seat so that your back is as upright as possible and your leg is not straight but flexed to some extent.

I'm going to have to have a scan on it asI'm not parting with the car and certainly not getting a Jaaaaag!

Had a Jaaaag once and my mates kept leaving blankets on the back seats and putting worthers originals in my glove box! Cheers for the feedback, will check out my IT band, whatever that turns out to be!.

Go to a good sports physio instead of scanning the knee because the reason for the pain might be much further up the spine. If you're in London I can recommend you a good one so pm me if that is the case.
