V12 Vantage Roadster?
Discussion
The more Aston say 'No' the more I think they will.
To say not enough interest is a red herring in my book. Just to judge here, there are a lot of potential customers.
It is such a natural progression, and there must be a bigger market in more clement climates.
A few mods and open top motoring in one of the finest 'sports cars' in the world. Its too good an opportunity to miss.
I still feel its a case of getting enough coupe's out there, let the owners become addicted, slavvering, drooling imbeciles, then give them that little bit extra to go for.
For me its a no brainer.
Its a bit like the V8V homecoming. Put us in a V12V and watch us dialling our bank managers. Its entry level marketing, and it works. 'Keep em wanting more'!!

The UK is the biggest market for most manufacturers for convertibles. Aston keep saying no to the V12 Roadster. To say not enough interest is a red herring in my book. Just to judge here, there are a lot of potential customers.

Don't see it happening as they haven't sold the allocation of 1000 VantageV12'a.
I hope they don't make it - or do I?? As I've said in other threads, I actually prefer V8s to V12s, and I'd be tempted by the S, except I also prefer manual boxes to flappy paddles. Sooo, V12V Roadster (compromise on the engine, although I'm not belittling its performance), or V8VS (compromise on the box)? I can see I'll end up keeping the one I've got! (Which isn't such a bad thing)
Just had an interesting chat with a main dealer who had the top boffs from AM there a few weeks ago for a hosted evening..
So there will definitely be no Roadster at all, 100% period. The Vantage S Roadster is what they want people to buy.
The last V12V this particular dealer just sold a couple of weeks ago (new) was chassi 796 and apparently now the UK will only get 800 V12V's because the previous problem with registering these cars in the US has been overcome, so the last 200 to be produced will be heading over there. There will not be more than 1000. Once the last 200 have been made and shipped off it will only be the Vantage S to buy as the top of the line Vantage, and thats obviously in Coupe and Roadster.
Makes me want to buy a V12V even more as this is surely good for residuals?

Great news indeed, there were many people doubting if AM would stick to the 1000cars but this is very good news for sure. I have long suspected that all the final cars would be allocated to the US as soon as things were sorted out. As a proud V12V owner I am delighted to finally hear confirmation of the limit being stuck to and it will indeed be interesting to see the effect of residuals this year when the dealer stock dries up!So there will definitely be no Roadster at all, 100% period. Dealers stock is already dry - the garage I was at was one of the bigger groups and had no used V12V stock to offer me, and none in the pipelines... I am on his list!
I really would like a Carbon Black, so may wait for one of these to pop up
I just had a call from my dealer to see what my plans were. There really don't seem to be any V12Vs around at the moment.I really would like a Carbon Black, so may wait for one of these to pop up

Just a question - but did Aston Martin state that they would only make a maximum of 1000 V12 engined variants of the Vantage model OR did they say they would only build a maximum of 1000 V12 Vantages.
If it's the former then ok, but if it's the latter then I expect they could then build the Vantage RS model (with V12 power).....
Looking at the move to a more Porsche like range with proliferation - a re-nosed DB9 called a Virage and so on, I would expect we will not see a limit of 1000 V12 powered Vantages...
Thoughts?
