LR Evoque & Aston Martin - Good Combination?
Discussion
What with all the spaming of the "new friend" thread I though we needed an "area" for us Aston owners to discuss the Evoque
I was on site yesterday and saw a few of the first ones come through.
Nice looking bit of kit!
I've never been a 4x4 fan but I can see me putting one on the company fleet as a pool car
Probably the stop/start 2WD Pure Coupe in "lime green" with a few nice options to help keep the tax burden down
Panoramic roof is fantastic,
Really like the sports seats but they are only an option the the top end model
What are you all considering and why?

Just to copy from the other thread:
Panoramic roof is only a £460 option which is nice.
We're going for an eD4 Prestige, in Havana Brown with panoramic roof, and the ivory/tan interior, 6-spoke 19" alloys (no cost option) and the Lux Pack.

Total comes to an eye-watering £40,400 for a 150bhp FWD car!!!
But hey, it's going to be with us for quite a while and we want the car we want!
Of course we may change our minds once we can test drive one - we may want the 190bhp engine with an auto 'box, it may suit the car more...

near £50K in the spec Id want ...same as my FFRR
a very nice car, and when they are 3-4 years old we may downsize and get one ...I just can stomach throwing away another £25K in the next couple of years in yet more depreciation....
for now a 6 year old FFRR will do the job of everyday + winter car
for £30K you could have a nice diesel FFRR that was £80k new.....

Considering replacing the existing P38 Range Rover with either a FF RR or if Aston Annie gets her way a RRS. Evoque is for girls and what's with this two wheel drive nonsense? Its a Range Rover - 4 wheel drive only!

Whatever next Aston's badge on a small city car...

That is a lot for a 150 BHP FWD car
I specced up an ED4 Pure Coupe with "the" roof & Style Pack @ £31,865.
Combined with the 133 CO2's its pretty good on BIK tax at £6,054/yr so the "real" world cost would be £2,042/yr according HMRC
Plus we get a discount on purchase as a supplier
Moving to more CO2's or higher spec really does put the purchase price and CO2's right up!
As a "pool car" we would not get away with a RRS on customers sites
Plus the cost of a top spec big engined Evoque BIK is just stupid.

I have just returned from possibly the most stupid, ignorant 'SALES EXECUTIVE

So I am on the interweb tonight to see if I can spec myself and deal with someone elsewhere with more knowledge.
Why didn't I speak to someone more senior??? Well because he did, and still had no answers.
Sadly he won't be reading this as the final nail in the coffin was that he didn't know about PH either. A cardinal sin!
Deep breath and relax.....
And its not me being awkward. Those that know me can vouch I am a pussy cat

Specced up on line. Gone for a Dynamic Coupe, apparently the Dynamic is the only petrol model. In red as never had a red car. Petrol, auto, panoramic roof, lux pac, blah blah blah. Erm £45,000.
I preferred the Prestige but not an option.
In the cold light of day we may walk away from this. It seems just too excessive for a winter car. Before everyone advises much better 2nd hand options. This is also a Co car scenario so benefit tax plays a big role.
Will sleep on it and revue tomorrow.

My wife specced her car two weeks ago. The 2 wheel drive model won't be available at launch. Have seen it in the flesh and it is a very modern package but still feels like a RR should ! We specced Dynamic SD4 auto in Ferenza red metallic with black roof and panoramic , black/red leather, keyless go, surround cameras and shadow 20 inch wheels. Came to about £43k which is the same price she paid for her SLK350 three years ago and I actually feel it's better value for money. Would I buy one - no it's marketed to women and that's who will drive them . I will stick with my RRS. Interestingly my dealer said he had around 60 deposits which will be around his first year allocation!

After a six month wait, just took delivery of my new black Audi Q5, 170 S-Line diesel, 19's pana roof auto, (fab sat nav that works!) blah blah blah, worth a look/drive, if you like the look of it you will not be disapointed.....
Had a look at the the Q5 as an option a while back, nice package and drives well. She WMBO liked the X1 beema better mainly for the driving experience. Like I said in earlier post Evoque would have been an option if it was coming here sooner rather then later.

Di - BIK tax is a killer on high value & high CO2 cars a RRS would be even worse! Would you cope with the 2WD version?
