Good find just bought one of eBay, looks much better than the Volvo effort.

Thanks for the great idea, Stonic. Definitely looks much better than the Aston key fob. In fact, one time my dealer gave me an XF as a loaner while they worked on my car for a week. I recall wondering to myself why Aston couldn't have made a key fob as nice as this.

Thanks for the key explanation! The ones I've bought seen to come with it so all good...

The red was obvious for your car Stonic, not sure how I'll mask the Jag lettering yet. Hmm, maybe a bit of green alcantara like my wheel scratchchin

Muxch like 'Knob29', I also don't like carbon fibre effect...

A really thin piece of brushed ally would be nice though scratchchin

Needs an Aston logo, probably one of the little pin/key ring badges will do it yes

It's getting harder to find used Jag fobs on eBay now. Everyone's buying them!

Agreed, an aluminium or ss plate would be preferable.
I might get one of my contacts to make one up and laser etch the logo on it.
The problem with this, is that it will need to be very thin since you'll need to hand mould it to the fob shape i.e. its not flat.

How about asking Mr Hall to print something with the logo on in a brushed ally finish - then you could just stick it on in the same way as the CF

Can't you adapt something like this to take the volvo internals?

Hm, can someone bring their jag key to the D&D next time?

IS it possible to get the stock Jag key coded to the Aston? Or do you have to switch the circuits over.

I don't think I want to dismantle a "perfectly good" Aston/Volvo fob, to put the guts into a Jag one, but maybe I need to MTFU.

As far as I can see, taking the Aston fob apart will destroy it, or at least the leather cover.

As much of an improvement i actually think that jag keyfob is, something like that with the flip type key would definately be preferable to me. Does anybody think something like that might be possible aswell?
