Only just seen this post. Did you go and see the car? Thanks in advance guys

There was a thread last month on one of the owners clubs about it.
It seems it was on e-bay last year, so why hasn't it sold?
Both telephone numbers appear to be linked to a dealer.

Plus there is a four year gap in the e-bay seller feedback.
All a bit odd IYAM.
Oh bugger.
I went to see the car and only bought the dam thing. Any chance you remember which forum it was they were talking about it? Post a link maybe?
To be fair some of the body wasnt brilliant, which might be a reason it hadnt sold but as part of the price I negotiated to have the bodywork fixed properly. No rust or anything just a few scratches and chips most probably picked up on the boat.
Apart from that it drove ok as far as I could tell, turbo was whistling from 2.2krpm, no turbo smoke, all electrics worked fine, couldnt see any crash damage anywhere ,certainly went and stopped ok!! Provided the guy doers a good job of the body work them im pretty pleased with it. I did miss a few things unfortunatly which in the moment I just completely forgot to check but I will do that when I go and collect, but I am sure it will be fine.
Doh I am worried now, really dont want to buy a lemon!!!!!!

Hi, (another mr2 turbo owner here)
I had noticed that one you bought had been on/off sale for quite a while.
After reading the owners club thread, there doesn't really seem to be anything REALLY wrong with it.
How is it going?
Will
Agreed. I dont feel too worried now after reading the thread. I think I'm going to get it checked over at Rogue just for peace of mind. I havent picked it up yet, hopefully will be at the weekend, possibly weekend after depending on when it goes into have the chips scratches removed. Needless to say I'm quite excited and itching to get in it.I had noticed that one you bought had been on/off sale for quite a while.

As a current Turbo owner are they easy to service yourself? Or best left to a specialist?
Oh right, get some better pictures up when you do get it! I would be intrested to see the condition of it! Just being nosey!
Im no car mechanic... but I can sure change the oil every 3k and the plugs as and when.
Changed the plugs,HT leads + distributor myself.
However of course the cambelt and clutch were done by a specialist.

Yeah will stick some picture up when I get it! Provided the body shop do a good job of touching it up it should be in A1 condition. Hopefully! All the concerns in the thread I got reasonable and perfectly adequate answers to so I have no doubt about the guys integrity. I have however been proved wrong on this before!!!Im no car mechanic... but I can sure change the oil every 3k and the plugs as and when.

Great HT leads, Dizzy cap, oil filter etc I can cope with that.
Nice one, now it just needs to hurry the hell up and get here!
yep.
some nice things to check when you get new possession of a Tubby are:
Dizzy cap
HT leads
check the plugs
check condition of radiator (stones kicked up by cars can ruin em, and look for any signs of coolant leak around the in/out pipes)
oil change (use quality oil)
proper 4 wheel laser alignment
MAKE SURE THE TYRES ARE GOOD, especially on the rear - really get a good look especially inside edges which can wear through if the alignment is wrong.
if its running a boost controller, check its set to a sensible level for the mods you have.

Don't just think about it.
It will be interesting to know what they have to say, so please report back on here.
I wont. It WILL be checked over at Rogue, haven't spoken to them yet as I don't know when I'm going to be able to pick it up. Will post on this thread what they say.

All the things listed above are things I'm going to change on the service I'll do as a peace of mind thing so fingers crossed all should be well.
I'll report back ASAP and put pics on my profile members thingy.
Update.
Collect the car this Saturday
Pics will be added to members area or posted in a thread if I can figure out how to do it ASAP for those that were interested in condition.
Service parts ordered from Rogue and should be here tomorrow/Sat. Booked into Rogue workshop on 10th June for check over, Cambelt and coolant flush.
To say I'm looking forward to getting it would be an ever so slight understatement!!

Well,
Picked the car up today and am pretty pleased with it. Picture link below. Sorry they're not great but time has been a bit of an issue this weekend. Managed to complete the service this morning though which is good.
Things I am pretty happy with are the body work that the guy said he would do seems ok, the rest still needs a decent T cut but that will have to wait for now just to remove a few light scuffs and scratches here and there, TRD exhaust - nice, blue bilsteins and the wheels are in a much better condition than I remember for some reason. So overall
Things that need more investigation some sort of noise that I didnt notice/wasnt there before from the rear passenger side wheel area - suspect wheel bearing but not sure and when servicing there was oil around two of the plugs which I wasnt expecting. Its not smoking at all so maybe a seal somewhere weeping. Hopefully Rogue will sort it out on Friday.

But for the money I havent really got any complaints. Obviously comments welcomed...................
