Toyota Yaris MPG Display and Tank Range

I've recently bought a 52 reg Toyota Yaris D4D. For some reason it will not display my current MPG figure, average MPG figure or tank range on the centre display, it will only display my average speed figure. My Mum also owns a Yaris and on hers you just press the "Mode" button to change between the 4 options or hold it down to reset your average MPG/speed figure where as on mine if you press the mode button nothing happenes it just remains on my average speed, but if you hold the button down it will reset my average speed.

Does anyone know a possible reason for this? Is it some kind of software fault or something?

Try disconnecting the battery, as if its a software fault that might clear it.

The MPG feature only works on the VVTi (petrol) models, so there is nothing wrong with yours. It does function on the Yaris mk2 2006 onwards D4D though!
