HELP!! INSURANCE ON SUBARU IMPREZA'S!!
Discussion
Hello People,
Just like to say thanks to every1 that helped we with my last topic. Was a real help!!
Heres a new one for ya..
INSURANCE!!
I dont get it... sum quotes i do are like £1700 and then others are £700-£800 for the same car, same size engine etc and same model just different reg plates.
I looking to get a Subaru with a turbo (of course) and my have no no years claims, no points or convitions and am 30 years old, so i was expecting the insurance to be quite high, but i just cant work it out.!
IS THERE A LOOP HOLE OR SUMTHING??

I've just bought an Impreza (though I haven't picked it up yet), and I too am seeking out cheap insurance.
Keith Michaels/Sky both will require you to have 1 year of ownership of big power turbo cars before quoting you. A-Plan (about 2 mins up the road from me!) will do a good job of finding you a deal.
Admiral are sometimes quite cheap on Impreza's too. A-Plan got me the best price with Aviva (they didn't charge extra for the exhaust change either)
ETA - Just to add - you mentioned the same car being different prices elsewhere. I found that with the imports I was getting quotes on, some companies recognised the plate as the true car (2 door wrx sti type r 20000cc), whereas others were bringing the same plate up as "4 door my00 type uk" - a completely different car, with completely different performance. Worth checking in great detail before you accept a policy that they actually have the correct car listed

I got my mum as a named driver on my policy which saved me £100. The insurance company shat themselves a bit when I listed all the mods so much to-ing & fro-ing was done by the chap on the phone to his boss.
I'm 29, 5 years no claims and costs me £1250 all mods declared. Hoping it'll be sub £1000 this december but not holding my breath.

I have a my94 sti wagon import, heavily modded insured through Skye fully comp, I'm 36 with 9 years no claims, clean lisence, agreed value and all mods declared for £556 fully comp.
You will get hammered if you have no no claims bonus or any experience of a quick car, once you've got that year without any issues it will drop down, I went from a saxo to my scoob 8years ago and got stung for the first year, then gradually started coming down.

Try the specialist companies like:
Keith Michaels
A-Plan (very good)
Sky Insurance
Sky and Keith Micahels said came back next year, after I had owned the car a year.Keith Michaels
A-Plan (very good)
Sky Insurance
A Plan are about 2 miles from me, and are excellent and got me a decent price with Aviva. Next best that I found on my own was Admiral.

I had the opposite when I tried to renew my insurance. A-Plan said come back next year and Keith Michaels were the cheapest around.A Plan are about 2 miles from me, and are excellent and got me a decent price with Aviva. Next best that I found on my own was Admiral.
I'm with A-Plan now, Keith Michaels wanted nearly an extra £300 to add business class 1 to my policy when I renewed
