I have been driving my 05 WRX for around 3 months now and have noticed that the seat is not as supportive as my old celica, and I tend to slide about in the corners. I have quite a slim build and I physically move a fair amount from side to side plus I don’t feel that the bolsters support your legs much.

I am therefore considering getting an aftermarket bucket or recliner seat. Ideally I don’t want to run harnesses and would be looking to spend up to £300. Can anyone suggest any worth looking at? I remember having a drive in my friends Integra DC2 and the Recaro’s in that were very supportive.

You should be able to put on about a stone with £300. Personally I would eat pies, but anything fattening will do... Other than that scooby world have some good ones...

Whereabouts are you based? Anywhere near Wrexham? You could pop into demon tweaks I'm not a big fan of theirs, but they do have a good selection of seats on display that you can sit in and try for size comfort etc etc, prepare ya wallet for their prices though if you choose to buy from them, if you mention your a member of scoobynet they will knock you some discount off the price.

Based in Reading so not exactly local to Demon Tweeks! I am a member of SN so good to hear that they give discount. Going to keep an eye out on ebay too but need to sit in them first

Merlin Motorsport are based at Castle Coombe and have a selection of aftermarket seats shown on their website, but I'm not sure if they have any in stock for you to be able to sit in.

Put up a post in the TV&S section to see if anyone knows of a company locally

I'd try and find some STI seats. They are much better than the WRX seats even thought they look similar. The other thing to consider is the side airbags. I "think" the STI seats have them. Aftermarket ones won't.

Not sure there is that much difference. Although I have leather seats in my STi. I am of medium stature and do slide a bit.

The only thing with the STI seats is the imo awful blue centre trim. The same shaped seats, with the black mesh that the GX Sports (and possibly WRXs) were equipped with were much nicer imo.
