Hey all,
Picked up my IS-F yesterday and as a long term dweller in the BMW sections of PH I thought if i'd see if we have any other IS-F owners on PH?
Absolutely loving it, despite the rain keeping my right foot in check somewhat..
Below is the obligatory "crappy photo I took on my iPhone" - I'll take some decent pics later if the weather holds off!

Lovely car, definitely well up the list of boxes I'd like to have checked off.
My first spot of one on the road was a blue one taking a junction in downtown Cincinnati in the middle of the night in pouring rain - completely sideways on full lock at a hell of a turn of speed. It was like something from a movie. I've had a chubby for them ever since

I'll try and answer some questions,
I did look at the E90 M3 - it's very good but I've fallen out with BMW after the issues with my last M3 and it's tough to find one with the right spec (DCT, EDC, Bluetooth, individual audio etc). With the IS-F you know that they are all high spec regardless.
C63 was a consideration as well - they do sound awesome but it was a little soft for me and I wasn't that keen on the gearbox.
The build standard for the IS-F is really good, feels really well screwed together.
Part of the appeal is that there are only just over 200 on the road in the UK so you get that rarity value.
Currently averaging about 22mpg - which has mostly been short journeys - as this is my daily driver I'll get a bit of an idea after tomorrows commute.

Comments about decent gas mileage despite the engine size are true - on a motorway run it's averaging about 30mpg and in more spirted mixed driving i'm getting 25mpg.

A truly excellent car, but then it would have to be to stand shoulder to shoulder with the BMW and Mercedes offerings. The IS-F is a great car though, surprising they didn't take off sales-wise like the German counterparts, but I suppose badge means as much as performance to many buyers of these kind of cars.
The more I look at the Lexus, the more I like it. The only thing I don't like are the faux exhaust tips!

Hi Slurms - currently looking at these myself with quite a deal of interest. Feel free to wax lyrical on anything and everything ISF related. Its a car that doesn't seem to get a great deal of coverage on here. According to How Many Left, there's 207 in the UK on the road, so I can probably understand why.
It's a real Jekeyll and Hyde car, when it's just cruising along it's very quiet and very refined.
But once you're pressing on it really does transform into a noisy monster.
The engine character changes completely above 3,600 rpm
Now that we've finally had a couple of days without rain i've been able to exploit the car more and i'm still loving it.
Averaging about 26.5mpg in "mixed" driving.. which is better than I expected.

They're great cars, and I truly loved mine like few cars before it. Wonderful quality, handling, pace, noise, toys, and of course, service from Lexus. My only downsides were the ease with which the alloys get kerbed/scratched and the slightly dowdy/out-dated interior. But I guess I can make some observations

Oh, and it averaged 13mpg in the entire time I had it (18 or so months!)....but that wasn't really a down-side as I did very little motorway/a-road miles, mostly rural B-road at 3600+rpm!
I shall take the sound at full chat to my grave with me with a smile!

You're in for a great time!
Only thing I don't like is the standard throttle response, it's positively glacial in nature. Though one press of the sports button does sort that out.
I've sold three of them over the years and driven five. My best memory of the IS-F has to be Thruxton on a Lexus training event with Consalo Gomez driving (Portugese F300 driver). He learnt the circuit that morning and was hitting the kerbs at Church at about 125 - I'd been advised to keep well clear of them when I did my ARDS test there.
We went on to just shy of 160 up Woodham Hill before braking for the chicane - such a capable car. The drivers that day including Danny Buxton were saying the brakes and tyres would outlast an M3 by about 20 laps.
Great car - that howling V8 is stunning!
