As above, there's a tidy looking example with 71k on. What should I be looking for if I were to take it for a drive? Or is it just a massive 'no' and not even worth a look?

Cheers!

Been done to death. Have a search for previous threads. General gist;

How much? How handy with spanners are you? Test drive it and check for hot start problems? Is there a history showing an engine rebuild? Is the owner an enthusiast or clueless? Were previous owners clueless?

If it's been taken care of properly ie regular oil top ups and changes then it could be fine. There is a risk however and it's up to you to balance risk against price. If the owner doesn't know where the oil goes in and it won't start when hot I'd probably leave it. If he knows what he's doing and has a recent compression test report I'd be interested but still find out what a rebuild might cost me.

Sorry if I'm asking an old question, I'm just a little baffled by these cars.

It looks solid, nice leather seats, not too old, RWD and a little bit of poke (but not too much) although I've not driven it.

£2450 the garage is asking.

I understand they're thirsty, but it'll be a weekend car if anything.

Just worried it'll be a large money pit.

Alot less miles. Worth looking at others before you commit.

That looks lovely, but unfortunately it's miles away and i'm without any transport just now!

Plus talking a mate into giving a lift down there, only to find it's a dog would probably cost more in 'thank you' beer than it would in petrol and oil ; )
