MR2 car cover sets off alarm
Discussion
Strange question, but has anyone ever had trouble with the alarm going off when they put a cover over their car?
I have an MR2 mk2 rev 4 and as soon as I try and put the cover over it the alarm goes off.
It is not an over-sensitive alarm normally as I can wash the car or leave the roof off and it does not go off. I've got round it by locking the car with the key rather than the remote for now.
Any ideas?

Interior sensing alarm and standard on my UK T-top. Mine also sounds the alarm when I take off car cover without the T-Bar glasses in place and forget to unlock the car first. Essentially you have to keep the air inside the cabin still or the alarm will sound.
There is a grace period when you first central lock the car before the interior sensors kick in.
I personally would not want to disable this. The purpose is that should I decide to park with the roof off, I want to alarm to sound if there is any one who put their hands into the cabin. All I need to remember is to unlock the car before taking the cover off.
