Hi guys,

I have started to look at these recently as they seem to be serious value for money. to be honest, I have had a fair fair of different cars - top of the range Audi A8, Range rover, Mercedes ML - been looking at an s class now untill these cropped back in my mind.

So my perception of these, slightly bland on outside but very classy, build like a rock, unlikely to have any issues, rock sold V8, combined should get 20mpg 50/50 no problem - gadgets - lets not go there as it makes the s class look like a poverty spec ford fiesta....

am I wrong or right.

I agree, they do look fabulous value for money now and I think they are a hnadsome looking car. I would say your overall assessment is spot on, although there was some talk (mainly on USA forums) about the front seat design being flawed and very uncomfortable on long journeys. I've not been fortunate enough to sample one, so I can't say whether or not that's true, but I thought I'd best mention it as it's certainly something I would check out before taking the plunge.

Hi Slippery,

Yeah you are correct, I did hear something about this - i think it was something to do with the padding loosing its structure and almost becoming flat and uncushion like - but the yanks are quite on the large side hehe,

sorry couldnt resist that one haha. but on a serious note I have seen this issue but it was isolated to a few people saying it, it wasnt a pandemic of everyones view so may have been a bad batch of seats?

I love the rear set up in these cars, luxury at its best.... wish there were more around to make it easier to go and view one.

Yes, they are different. A number of owners commented that their old 430 was superior to the 460 they had replaced it with IIRC.

I think I may potentially be able to view one roughly 60 miles away from me. is there anything i should look out for on these cars in terms of engine, gearbox, vibrations.
