Evo X vs. New STi
Discussion
What about a 10RS?
JRM were selling them new a while back and they're a very different car to the standard in terms of how they drive, so I've read.

Don't discount a mint 9GT either. They're lighter and more focussed. That said, as you're an ex-scooby owner surely you should be tracking down a 22B or a mint Spec C instead of a new one.

Reading some of the other forums the STi does seem to get mentioned more in relation to being the better track day toy...

The Evo 10 did get a bit softer and just not as focussed, ask the mitsi dealers they will tell you to buy something like this.....

Both the later scooby and the Evo X are softer versions of their former selves, if you want a daily driver with a bit of fire then fine, but if you want the best drive you can get then go slightly older.
The subaru IMO cannot match the handling or power levels of the Mitsi in 9 trim. Im not starting an argument, because everybody knows that question has been answered 100 times already.
As always - it depends on what you want it for and on your personal preference. Style and taste are as much to do with the difference between Scooby and Evo

Agree - the scooby needs quite a bit of engine work above a certain power...Anyway, I have had a 2005 STi, but would want something less than 4 years old. I would also be using it for about 15K miles per year. I am tempted, dare I say it, by the STi hatch. If I could get it to a reliable 350bhp that would be plenty.
