An X pipe and a remap - is not a lot of work , for a big jump in power.

Then your googling wrong - the R35 GTR has a Y pipe fitted when doing initial mods as well as the required remap.

For a grand that will give you around 580bhp.

Seems I misunderstood the spec. The Y pipe is the initial de cat pipe then.

Pics

Outside the dealer @ Bournmouth (who I must say I found very nice and very accommodating in doing a decent deal)

In the village after a spirited drive through some of Dorset's finest B-roads

Safely snuggled into it's parking spot at the cottage

And now safely at home

Had some interesting aquaplaning across the rivers that were masquerading as roads today in Dorset, but also had a lot of fun in the dry when I got back to Sevenoaks, especially on the M25/26/A21 southbound junction. God this thing sticks, and that's saying something when I have a M400....

Hey Joust. Long time no see - the days since Vmax and my P1 etc.

Funny how we ended up with the same car. Congrats on the choice. One consideration should be Litchfield for the 2012 gearbox update and Stage 1 remap with y Pipe. It's not just power, but the throttle response is transformed. Well worth it when you're ready. In the meantime get over to www.gtr.co.uk if you need any help. They've been a welcoming lot to me.

I'm in Italy right now touring with mine. Epic.

Hi guys, I know you wouldn't buy a GTR for economy, but what mileage are you achieving from a full tank? I tend to do a lot of short stop/start journeys and the E46 M3 I just sold averaged about 15mpg. What would I get in one of these? It's going to be a GTR or a 911 Turbo. Just need to ready myself for the fuel bills...

MY11 onwards has a specific "save" mode for motorways etc. It blunts acceleration performance (but it's half a second to flip it off as you come off the motorway, or even if you want to do a swift overtake) but is giving me 23mpg+ using that at a steady 80-90 on a mixture of motorways and backroads (probably 70:30, but I'm not hanging around on the back roads...)
