Mitsubishi Warranty - customer service awful!!
Discussion
I have an 2011 L200 Barbarian that i purchased new last year. Its now done approx 35k miles and its in my local dealers for a gearbox replacement. Great thinks I, decent brand, warranty, no probs.
Oh how wrong was I. Its been a week already and there's to be a further minimum of three weeks before a replacement gearbox turns up. So my local dealer offers us a courtesy car, great. In fact my dealer is really helpful and so far top notch. They've even sourced a combi van so that Mrs E-B can move all her kit and Junior and the dog around while i'm away during the week. Super.
But my snag is that i have work to do that the L200 was bought to do. I have a vehicle stuck in Buckinghamshire, that needs to be in Cornwall and i have no tow vevhicle to move it with! I have no 4x4 in which to get across the fields in.
So thinks i, a good company like Mitsubishi will sort us out won't they? They'll give us a replacement pickup to get on with while we're waiting on them to sort their act out and get the parts in? Surely? Oh how wrong was I!!!
They'll offer a £30/day 'good will gesture' towards a hire car but i cant get a replacement PU for that money per day can I? I'm seriously considering renting my old Discovery (from my own company) to the dealers to cover the cost of putting it back on the road!
I even asked if the Mitsubishi Press Fleet had anything going spare - she (the customer services agent) didn't even ask them.
I was really proud of our shiny truck and looked forward to driving it, but now..... it kinda leaves a sour taste in the mouth just thinking about what if something else goes wrong in the future.......

I bought a 3000GT...not a GTO, but foolishly a British specced version. The cost difference was huge, but based on the fact the dealers were saying I wouldn't be able to service and warranty it, I thought I would go British.
The car turned 3 years old, I had done over 70k miles in the car, so at service intervals of 4.5k there was a lot of servicing. The dealer didn't even drop me a reminder that my MOT was due, so drive around for 2 weeks, I'm happy to accept responsibility for that, but having spent over £35k on a car back in 1996 I thought the least they could do was drop me a reminder...but what was worse is my gearbox went bang....and they refused to warrant the vehicle despite being 2 weeks outside the warranty period. £4500 for a replacement box. After putting up a fuss, they offered me a £500 good will gesture!
This was turning up to the motorshow and getting annoyed with the cs manager that was supposed to be dealing with my case and. Bsically ignoring me. It was amazing how nice he was, and took me aside and plied me with coffee and biscuits until I went away. He promised he would do something then amazingly he ignored me again!
I would never buy another Mitsubishi again....

We have a solution!
The nice people at SHB 4x4 hire have a double cab we can hire and Mitsubishi will pay us back at the end o the hire. Result. Why they can't pay them directly i don't know, but it sure does get us out o a hole.
or some reason the letter between E & G
has packed in...... or ux sake will nothing remain serviceable today..............
