Any known problems with the latest Landcruiser V8 ?

Other than price and MPG.

I'm a Toyota salesman, (thought I'd better get that out of the way first!)

They are ultra reliable, we very rarely see them in with any problems. If you're down on the South coast and want to arrange a drive, feel free to message me.

The last model were the best patrol cars I've driven - fantastic cars. wink

I'm not a big 4x4 expert mate, but I was lucky enough to drive a brand spanking new one across Oman in 2011.

I did we'll over 1k miles in it and it was excellent all the way. It took a real bashing in Wahiba and he empty quarter, basically bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd non stop to get up the dunes lol. If I could afford the fuel bills I would have bought one on my return to the UK mate. Excellent beast : )

Many thanks, I jumped in with both feet and a massive wedge of money and have purchased a new one which I am now starting to fall in love with. This is my 7th L/Cruiser over the years and sold my Amazon with only 24K on the clock which did make me wonder if I had done the right thing.
Did not like the V8 at first as the steering is very different to the older Amazon but I am starting to get to grips with it which could be down to a largish shoulder opp in December.
The power is fantastic and last weekend had my 18 foot Brian James tri-axle behind it with a Disco 2 on it and one thing for sure there is no lack of grunt.
Early days yet but I think it's going to be a keeper, if not I have no idea which I would go for as any L/Rover product is not for me.
One little bug for me is that why do they not have the mirrors fold auto when you lock the car as they are very wide, may be it can be sorted if we look into it.
If anyone is thinking of one I would recomend you go have a good long drive in one especially if like me you had an Amazon which was a fantastic bit of kit, just wanted to move on with less tractor noise, if you know what I mean.

Our last one was brilliant - 09 plate, nearly 200,000 miles on the clock with very little trouble. Still had plenty of life left in it until strong winds blew an artic lorry on it flattening it!

Yours must have been the 120 series LC3 I think.

I think it was the LC4, it had satnav and heated leather seats.

In fact, this was taken off the internet, the last photo of it working before it got squashed. wink

And I bet you had very few problems. They are used still in Surrey but have noticed a few Disco 4's around of late.

They are being phased out as the new model hasn't got the room in the back to take our equipment cage without a massive rethink on dimensions. Our 2 have been replaced with Disco4s
