Lexus IS220 alloys corroding
Discussion
I took ours back to the supplying dealer and made a fuss........it's been a really common problem for literally decades now on Toyotas and Lexus, and if you stand your ground, and have a full dealer history they'll probably put it right foc.
I used to process warranty claims for a Lexus dealership, so I used to be on the other end of this..............

The laquer used on their alloys is not great and the softness of the alloy doesn't help. Funnily enough the problem is rare in many parts of the US due to 'cleaner' roads for a large part of each year.
Clean your alloys with a decent wheel cleaner often and then seal with a decent wax or sealant. problem solved.

All you have to do is chip the lacquer slightly when removing or refitting the wheel nuts ( very easily done on the oe poor quality and extremely thin finish ) and the process of corrosion starts, the dealers acknowledge this within the network, hence the often favourable outcome when challenged with the question of rectification. Always worth asking the question, and in the case of Toyota and Lexus ownership in particular, in my experience.Clean your alloys with a decent wheel cleaner often and then seal with a decent wax or sealant. problem solved.
It's a long standing problem, presenting them with the fact that you know this is usually all it takes.
