Hi John. Honestly, no definitely not worth the hassle.
Would require custom mounts and gear linkages and plumbing and wiring for about 10bhp and a more fragile engine.
Look into doing a v6 swap for a much better return on your time and money.
Thank you very much for that, I'm just trying to find a compromise point between the 2.0 I have and an engine with slightly better economy, I have a 5l tvr to keep the 'need for Speed urge' under control so the 6 speed box appeals to me greatly. .....Would require custom mounts and gear linkages and plumbing and wiring for about 10bhp and a more fragile engine.

I've had a couple of messages about it recently - fact is, my 'project' car is still off the road. The idea was to sell the MR2 and buy something dull to drive about in.
But I sort of think - why do that, whne I can just keep the MR2!?
Its coming up for MOT time soon too and I'd rather sell it with a full test. If someone makes the right offer though, everything can be for sale...

Yeah I emailed you a couple of times about it last week but wasn't sure if my messages were getting through or not, so my friend messaged you on IMOC last night.
I'm still looking for an MR2, so message me a ballpark price of what you'd be after if you like
Cheers, thread hijack over sorry!
