The new Suzuki Ignis is not going to win rear of the year but it looks pretty good.

Many new cars are starting to look the same but it is good to see Suzuki doing something different.

The major disappointment is that Suzuki have not fitted the new 1.0 Boostjet turbo petrol which is madness.

The basic car will come in under £10,000 from reports.

The front sort of looks like a tiny VW Amarok. The back, however, is the stuff of nightmares.

It's like the designer got started on the back then left for the weekend leaving the grad high on TipEx in charge.

'Boosterjet'. Something about that word makes me cringe.

Really hoping they do a decent sport version of this!

The styling on this is a bit off though in my eyes. I can't quite put my finger on it but it just doesn't look like it's been designed properly at all. More of a copy and paste job if anything. It certainly doesn't look like something that they've been working on for a while, put it that way.

The back end is awful, like a worse Proton Savvy if that's possible.

I quite like this! It's a lightweight (sub 850kg), decent handling, funky looking, baby crossover. The leccy motor is only 3hp, but adds a 50Nm slug of torque. Can be ordered independently of the 4wd system.

That rear is a nod back to the Whizzkid. It's brave, I'll give 'em that...

I like it a lot and the mild hybrid system seems a much better route to efficiency in small, cheap, cars than diesel. Having just spent a few days with a rented Panda 4x4 I think this type of car is a great mix of practicality and fun.

With the Baleno taking on the boring side of things I wonder how much fun they can build into the forthcoming Swift?

I like it.

Agreed, with more power it could be good fun. Might be fun as it is actually. Back end is challenging....but i like the nod to the old'un as posted above.

Nowhere near as cringeworthy as Polestar.

Like.

Distinctive in a way that appeals to me that small French stuff currently doesn't.

Before someone else spends time going to check:
“There are currently no plans to build a new Ignis Sport,” said a spokesperson during the launch of the all-new Suzuki Ignis.
https://www.motoringresearch.com/car-news/opinion/...

So disapointing. A friend used to have an Ignis Sport and it was a right hoot.

This may be cheaper? The 0.9 panda 4x4 is £14 grand and the 1.3 4x4 is £16 grand.
