Suzuki swift central locking ,stop start fault

Hi need some: batteries changed in both the key and the spare and the remote unlocking doesn't work and you can only start it if you hold the key up to the button

Any ideas where to start looking Suzuki dealer wants 90 pounds too plug diag in

Were they new(ish) branded batteries? CR2032.

If not try that first.
