I have put a deposit on a 2009 Subaru Legacy GT, which is currently being under sealed. Do JDM imports require under sealing when they arrive in the UK because they are not sealed for their domestic market.

Thanks,

James

Yes, and get them to do it everywhere into all the chassis crevices, extremely thoroughly. Subarus are especially prone to rust so an inspection before they coat it is also a wise move. Cars from Japan can and do rust so do what you'd do to any older classic.

A great choice of car and not a daft question at all.

Undersealing all the crevices is essential imo, had my Toyota Crown undersealed on arrival and it's still good a few years later. Will probably inspect and top it up next year.

Thanks for the replys, I wasn't sure if JDM cars were sealed by the factory, clears that up for me.

If, following it's underseal application I'll be pleased if the Legacy proves to be as resistant to the rust gremlins as my UK spec 2012 Outback has been.
