Motorbike rack (Nissan Patrol)
Discussion
Appreciate this may be a bit niche for PH as doesn't really apply to the UK market, anyway....
Wondering if anyone could shed light on an issue regarding the tow hitch on a Y62 Nissan Patrol. Or just motorbike racks in general.
Its got a pintle hitch at the moment, which I think pretty much all patrols do in the GCC/ Saudi, like this:

However I am wanting to mount a motorbike rack on the back. Which are designed for a 2" receiver, like this:

I have found a sort of adapter that bolts on to the plate where the current hitch is and provides a 2" receiver:

But, I imagine, this may be a bit of a silly 'quick fix' and given the weight on the hitch is going to be a vertical load with added stresses over bumps etc, a 130mm adapter and four bolts will fail with the weight of the bike. The bikes a YZ426 Yamaha dirbike, around 105kg, so it is reasonably light.
Wondering if anyone has done similar, and how it went?
If not I think it will likely be some kind of welded alternative, or removing the rear bumper and fitting a more robust hitch (i.e. the sensible option). But I'm no welder and proposing that to a Saudi mechanic often has its language barriers.
Cheers
