Nissan Juke 1.2 DIG T Limp Mode NBT12-115 and oil usage
Discussion
Hi Folks
The GF's daughter bought a 2016 Nissan Duke 1.2 DIG T and the car goes into limp mode on a regular basis. I've scanned the car and noted there are the usual P0090 code , relating to fuel pressure reg and also there is a misfire and Cam position fault however with these all cleared i've checked the cam position syc and also fuel pressure and live values and this all seems fine and there is no noticeable cam chain rattle. A few garages have offered to change the pump and chain for £2k but i'm not convinced that will cure the issue and thats £2k she won't have towards a replacement.
When monitoring the car i've noted that the OBD2 voltage is below 12V and as low as 11.1 volts. Voltage at battery seems fine when crank test is done so the alternator appears to be working fine hence were going to replace the battery to eliminate that causing the issue. Has anyone experienced this issue. There was a service not issued (NBT12-115) relating to low battery issues and hence the start / stop is switched off when driving
These cars are notorious for drinking oil and this and currently needs 0.5 litre every 300 miles and i wish she had never bought the car as the faults with the 1.2 DIG T are well documented with class action being taken in the US and France due to excessive oil use and piston ring issues but what can we do to hold Nissan to account for producing a car clearly not fit for purpose. Its only done 86k miles and been serviced on a fairly regular basis. There is no visible oil leak
