I assume you mean G Force in Aylesbury? Know a few evo guys who used to use them a lot. Don't know any further info though.
Might want to check out WRC Technologies at Silverstone as well, which is only a 20min hoon from Aylesbury.
www.wrc-tech.co.uk/ Their rolling road is pretty sweet and is used by EVO mag now.

Apart from an extra Retarder, its no different to G-forces.. or ours for that matter.
You won't go wrong at either G-force or WRC to be honest.
However.. if its just a EcuTek you're after, I can get Pat (the Scoobyclinic's mapper) down to do those.

Thanks vixpy1, I'll try to make my mind up after Christmas. Also depends on whether the TVR needs any work in the near future!

RSV I am interested in why you think the Ecutek prices are high ?
1] A licencing fee must be paid by the mapper to Ecutek
2] A skilled professional spends time writing a tailored bespoke map for each individual car [some WRX/STi can take 3hrs to get right. Not actually allowing for any previous development time to be recouped or the I.P. value of this work
3] A c£125k rolling road cell is in use for up to 3hrs
4] A contribution towards overhead recovery is required, liability insurances etc etc.
All of this for £499 + vat how is that high ??
I am sure your boss does not charge out your efforts at 50p per hour over what his dead cost is ?
Cheers
Allan

Depends on where you go. Had my FD remapped before VMAX 8 for £250. Repeat visits, no matter what mods are charged at £40/hour... Not bad and a rotary specialist too! Not much use to owners of boingers but pretty good vfm I think!
I'd flinch @ ~£590 - what power gains would you see from this mapping?

Typical gains on something like an Evo 8 260 are:-
35 BHP and 28Ft-lbs if no other changes made.
A typical Evo 8 MR320FQ with a decat and remap can get to 360 BHP+ and 355 Ft-lbs !
However it is not all about pure increase in absolute numbers, a remap removes the dips in the power curves put in to satisfy drive by noise limits, emmissions etc. Car has better driveability, its smoother, in gear accel is improved etc etc.

But your point number 1 is why I believe they are higher than they could be. The market is not allowed to decide the price.
Where I.P. exists is never possible to determine a value. Some outfits value their time or research higher than others. Also market size determines retail to some extent.
If puts your mind at rest Pro-Drive pay the same as we do [allegedly] we buy around 20 licences per month, making us 2nd only to Pro-Drive on scale.
