EVO 6 Gearbox + Clunking noise.

Anyone any idea's...

My Evo VI has a gearbox issue. 3rd pops out, doesn't actually engage all of the time to the point where you cannot select.

Just sort of vibrates alot when you try and select.

Other problem (think i've had this before) is when turning at low speeds with full right lock, I get an awful clucking noise from the front transmission (i think).

Is this a known fault?

Erm.... anyone wan't to buy my Evo?????

Gearbox sounds FUBAR.

Clunking noise as you describe sounds typical of a worn out CV joint.

Both of your ailments are fairly typical of a powerful car driven hard.

Not sure the gearbox is beyond repair... They are highly servicable gearboxes if memory serves me.

Might be right about the CV joint though.

To be honest, i've not driven the Evo in over 18 months and even when I was driving it didn't really push it that hard. Hate to say it (in the Jap Chat Forum) but my TVR is proving to be more reliable year to year...
