Value of my wife's MX5
Discussion
No pain on my part whatsoever. The example I quoted is from a private seller, and just to re-iterate, it's the cheapest year 2000 1.8 model on Autotrader nationally. Dealers are asking significantly more than that again.
You can't buy *any* mk2 for £3k, let alone a 1.8 year 2000 special edition model with a hardtop, so I don't see why he would want give it away for that sort of money...

Ok following on from this, can anyone give me an indication of how much my 51 plate mk2.5 1.6i black mx5 is worth with 45k on the clock? It was in mint condition before someone wrote it off. Expecting the insurers to come in with a price of less than £6k but looking at the trader, anything over and about £7k is the usual

I reckon it's worth significantly more than that. The cheapest 2000 model 1.8 on Autotrader is up for £4995 with 101k miles on the clock.
