Removing stereo from '97 Nissan Almera
Discussion
Okay it's a longshot but here goes:
I'm wanting to replace the original stereo head unit from our 1997 Nissan Almera 1.6 5-dr with an aftermarket Pioneer CD player that I have spare. The trouble is that whilst the original head unit seems to be of a standard DIN size, I just don't know how to get it out. Someone has told me that parts of the dashboard facia need removing in order to access hidden screws that lock the old stereo into place, but I'd prefer to have a vague idea of what I'm doing before I hack at the dash with a screwdriver.
Anyone done this before, know how it's done or has a link to a webpage that describes the work needed? I've had a look online and found nothing that actually helps.
Regards,
Nick

Does it have the 2 holes either side to insert the secret headunit removal tool?
No there are no removal holes on either side as far as I can see. I'm pretty certain the dash needs removing to get at whatever secures the headunit in place, but I'm uncertain of where to start and what screws to start removing!
